New Gorbals Health and Care Centre Jun 02, 2014

Plans are progressing well for the new NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde health and care centre on the grounds of the former Sandiefield Road site.

The modern custom built centre will move health services from the current Pine Place centre into the heart of the Gorbals in Autumn 2016.

Along with the existing services currently available at the Pine Place centre there will be some additional local social work services moved into the new building.

You will be able to access services including:

  • District Nurses

  • Health Visitors

  • Speech and Language Therapy

  • Specialist Children’s Services

  • Community Paediatrics

  • Physiotherapy

  • Community Dental Practice

  • Gorbals Dental Practice

  • Social Work Children and Families

  • Social Work Community Addictions

  • Social Work Homeless Casework Team

  • Social Work Criminal Justice

  • GP Practices (Gordon Practice, Kerr Practice, Mills Marshall Practice, Willox Practice)

An important part of the project is bringing art into the new space. There will be a community artist in the area who will work with local people to create art that will be displayed throughout the building. There will be lots of opportunities for community groups, schools and people living in the area to get involved.
